Trans Inclusion and Allyship in the Workplace Training with Dr. Sand Chang
This 1-hour training was designed with the intention to equip managers and employees with foundational knowledge and skills that will support trans employees and trans-inclusive work environments. This training is based on fostering increasing humility and the capacity to connect within diverse groups in order to move through growing pains and cultivate a greater sense of confidence, trust, and safety.
Through this training, participants will:
Increase awareness of their own gender socialization and related biases
Learn basic knowledge of trans and/or nonbinary communities
Understand how trans inclusion is relevant to the workplace
Learn basic skills for respectful interactions, including affirming language
Learn skills for recovery and repair when mistakes happen
Increase awareness of key elements that can contribute to inclusive built environments and digital practices
Hiring me to provide this training typically includes:
Setting up a 30-minute video or phone meeting among key stakeholders in order to discuss your organization’s specific needs, gaps, and growth edges (ideally at least 2-3 months before your desired training date).
Collaborating on logistics such as scheduling, payment, and structure (2-3 months before your desired training date).
Creating communications to distribute to employees/groups who are invited to attend (typically 1-2 months before training date).
My recommendations of relevant pre-work (reading, videos) so that participants can familiarize themselves with introductory material and make the most out of the live training session (typically 2 weeks before training date)
Live training with a typical structure of 45 minutes of presentation/content and 15 minutes of Q&A/discussion. Most trainings contain brief breakout sessions and experiential exercises.
Optional: If you would like to offer this training via recording, there is an additional fee. I record the training and make it available on Vimeo for a specified/limited period of time (e.g., 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months).
